New Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance engine model year 2025.
You’ll still find a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine under the bonnet of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance, however it’s paired with an electric motor on the rear axle.
The engine alone puts out 612hp, which is already 27hp more than the standard GT 63 S, and the electric motor kicks out an additional 204hp. Combined, you get 816hp and a colossal 1,420Nm of torque.
So how does this compare to the alternatives? Well the most powerful Porsche 911 you can buy is the Turbo S, and that car has ‘only’ 650hp, and the new Aston Martin Vantage puts out 665hp. Even the V12-powered Ferrari 812 GTS falls 16hp short of the Mercedes.
The added power from the electric motor has also done wonders for performance, because this is the fastest-accelerating production AMG ever made. The E-Performance can do 0-60mph in just 2.8 seconds, 0.6 of a second quicker than the non-hybrid 63 S.
